How to Assign Access Privileges to a User
You can select the privileges you wish to assign to users for any available projects. You can assign inherited privileges to a user based on predefined security roles. Security roles are collections of privileges that can be reused from project to project. For example, you may create a security role that allows users to access all the editors except for the HTML Document Editor. Once you create this security role, you can save it and use it in any project loaded on that Intelligence Server. The users associated with a particular security role can vary by project. Assigning access privileges is a way of determining what a user has access to within the software.
You can select the security role to be applied to a selected user using the Group Editor.
- Access the Intelligence Server Administrator page. (How?)
- Hover over the Properties column and click Open Intelligence Server Administration Portal .
- Click User Manager .
- Select the group that contains the user to modify.
- In the Actions column, select the Edit icon for the user to modify. The User Editor opens.
- Select the Project Access tab.
- In Security Role Selection, select the security role to be applied to the selected user. You can apply multiple security roles to the group by selecting more than one security role from the list.
- You can select a checkbox for an individual privilege to override those assigned to the user by the selected security roles. This override applies to all projects displayed.
- Click OK.
