MicroStrategy Community Data Connectors

MicroStrategy Community Data Connectors allow you to import data from different data sources into your MicroStrategy platform. The SharePoint File, SurveyMonkey, Alchemer, OneDrive, and Box connectors are commonly used connectors and can be used once the parameters are set. To utilize other connectors, deploy the individual connectors through the Community Connectors application in MicroStrategy Data Import Wizard.

Once the Community Connectors application is installed, administrators can setup MicroStrategy Web to configure and deploy any Community connector with few easy steps.

To use Community Data connectors with MicroStrategy Web, perform the following steps:

  1. Deploy Community Connectors War File
  2. Set the Community Connectors Application URL
  3. Configure Commonly Used Connectors
  4. Deploy Connectors to MicroStrategy Web

Once the administrator has configured and deployed the Community Connectors, users can learn how to use the connectors. For more information, see MicroStrategy Community Data Connectors in the MicroStrategy Web Help.

Limitations

The MicroStrategy connector creates a cube from a snapshot of data from the original data source, such as a cube or report. It references the original data source it was created from. When you move the connector cube across environments or projects using the package manager, the underlying data source remains unchanged. The main purpose of the connector is to create refreshable snapshots of data. It is not intended to be used as a migration tool.

Supported Authentication Types

The MicroStrategy connector supports standard and LDAP authentication.
