Creating an attribute form qualification

In a filter, an attribute form qualification allows you to qualify on an attribute form. For a more detailed description, including an example, see Filtering data based on business attribute forms.

Prerequisite

This procedure assumes that you have already begun creating an attribute qualification. If you have not, see Steps to create an attribute qualification.

To create an attribute form qualification

  1. In the Attribute Qualification pane, select an attribute in one of the following ways:

    • Type the name of the attribute in the Attribute box and click OK.

    • Click ... (the browse button) to select an attribute from the Attributes folder. Click OK.

    • Drag the attribute from the Object Browser into the Attribute box.

  2. Select any form except Elements from the Qualify On drop-down list.

  3. Select an operator from the Operator drop-down list.

  4. Select Value from the drop-down list below the Operator box.

  5. Type the operator value (the value to compare to the attribute) in the text box.

If you want to use a list of values with the Contains or Does not contain operator, enclose the values in brackets and separate them with commas. For example, you want to exclude all last names that contain the letters a, e, i, o, and u. Select the Does not contain operator and enter the Value as [a,e,i,o,u]. If you do not use the brackets, the filter excludes only last names that contain the string "a,e,i,o,u", not the separate letters.

  6. Finish creating the attribute qualification, beginning at this step.
