MicroStrategy ONE

Steps to map a new attribute to a column expression

You can map a column in the SQL query to a new attribute form in the MicroStrategy environment. By default, every newly added attribute takes the ID form, but you can change that by using the Forms drop-down list in the Selections pane of the Query Builder Editor.

Every attribute must map a column to the ID form.

To map a new attribute form to a column expression

  1. Access the Query Builder Editor.

  2. Add tables to your Query Builder report. The tables are added to the Tables and Joins pane.

  3. Select a column that represents attribute data such as ID or description columns. The column is displayed in the Selections pane.

  4. Right-click the column, and select Map to New Attribute Form.

  5. In the Object drop-down list, select the object name or type in an object name.

An existing project attribute or managed object attribute can be mapped for the column expression only if the exact name is used as the object name.

  6. In the Form drop-down list, select the form type.

  7. In the Type drop-down list, select the data type.
