Filter Editor: Filter definition pane

The Filter definition pane of the Filter Editor allows you to add qualifications, such as "Region = Northeast" or "Revenue > $1 million", to define a filter. Once you add a qualification, it is displayed in the Filter definition pane.

To add a filter qualification, you can either:

• Drag an object (an attribute, metric, report, or filter) from the Object Browser to the Filter definition pane. The appropriate qualification pane for the qualification type opens. For example, if you drag and drop an attribute, the Attribute Qualification pane opens.

• Double-click anywhere in the Filter definition pane. The Filtering Options pane opens at the bottom of the Filter definition pane. This pane allows you to choose the type of qualification to add to the filter.

Once you create qualifications, you can edit them. If you create multiple qualifications, you can move them, indent them, and change the operators that join them. You can use the Filter Editor menu or toolbar, or right-click a qualification or operator, to do these.
