Custom Group Editor: Right-click options

The right-click options vary depending on the object selected in the Custom Group Definition pane:

Right-click options for element headers

  • Rename: changes the name of the selected header. Changing the name from the default is recommended because it can be displayed on a report.

  • Show Display Options: opens the Choose a display option dialog box to set whether to display only the element names, only the individual items, or both.

  • Formatting properties: contains the following options:

  • Element Header: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the element header (that is, the name of the element).

  • Element Values: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the element values (the metric values of the element).

  • Clear Element Formatting: restores the default formatting for the element header and values.

  • Individual Items Headers: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the item headers (the individual items within the element).

  • Individual Items Values: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the values for the items (the metric values of the items within the element).

  • Clear Individual Items Formatting: restores the default formatting for the item header and values.

See Formatting custom groups for more information.

  • Show Band Names Editor: opens the Band Name Editor to rename the custom group bands, which by default are displayed as Band (1), Band (2), and so on.

  • New Custom Group Element: creates a new element.

  • Move Up: moves the selected element one level up in the custom group display.

  • Move Down: moves the selected element one level down in the custom group display.

  • Save selection as a filter: saves the selected element, with all its qualifications, as a separate filter. Opens the Save Expression as filter dialog box.

You can also use the right-click menu to Cut, Copy, Paste, and Remove the selected element, just as in any Windows environment.

Right-click options for qualifications

  • Edit: modifies the selected qualification. The appropriate qualification pane for the qualification type opens.

  • Rename: changes the name of the selected qualification. This name is not displayed on the report. This option is available only if the custom group element contains at least two qualifications.

  • New Custom Group Element: creates a new element.

  • Move Up: moves the selected qualification one level up in the element.

  • Move Down: moves the selected qualification one level down in the element.

  • Save selection as a filter: saves the selected qualification as a separate filter. Opens the Save Expression as filter dialog box.

You can also use the right-click menu to Cut, Copy, Paste, and Remove the selected qualification, just as in any Windows environment.

Right-click options for operators

When you right-click an operator in the Filter definition area, you can do any of the following:

  • Toggle Operator: replaces the operator between two qualifications. For example, you can replace the default AND operator between two qualifications with OR, OR NOT, or AND NOT operators. This option also indents the two qualifications to the right. For more information, see Changing the operators for multiple qualifications.

  • New Custom Group Element: creates a new element.

  • Increase Indent: indents the selected operator and its associated qualifications to the right. For example, two qualifications are connected through the AND operator. If you select the AND operator and increase the indent, the two qualifications along with the operator move to the right.

  • Decrease Indent: indents the selected operator and its associated qualifications to the left. For example, two qualifications are connected through the AND operator. If you select the AND operator and decrease the indent, the two qualifications along with the operator move to the left.
