Derived Elements Editor Toolbar options

The Derived Elements Editor provides a set of toolbar icons to help define and modify derived elements. In addition to standard Windows options such as save, these icons include the following options:

  • New: Allows you to create a new derived element by selecting from a List, Calculation, or Filter derived element. For steps to create a derived element, see Creating Derived Elements.

  • Change Group: Provides options in the drop-down list to rename the group and format the derived element header and values. For information on formatting derived elements, see Formatting derived elements.

  • Delete: Removes the selected group from the definition.

You must delete all derived elements to delete the All Other derived element.

  • Delete All: Deletes all derived elements, including the All Other derived element.

  • Move Up: Moves the selected derived element up one level, which changes the order in which the derived elements are displayed on a report or Grid/Graph.

  • Move Down: Moves the selected derived element down one level, which changes the order in which the derived elements are displayed on a report or Grid/Graph.

  • Undo and Redo: Undo cancels the most recent action taken, while Redo performs the most recent action that was undone.

If you are creating or modifying derived elements in reports connected to Intelligent Cubes or Grid/Graphs in documents, you can save and share your derived elements with the toolbar options listed below:

  • Save Groups: Saves the groups as a stand-alone derived element that can be used in other reports connected to Intelligent Cubes and Grid/Graphs in documents.

  • Link Groups: Allows you to browse to a stand-alone derived element to apply to an attribute in a report or Grid/Graph.

For more information on creating and sharing stand-alone derived elements, see Creating and sharing stand-alone derived elements.
