How to Use a Link to Open a Report or Document

You can use links to open other reports or documents. A link is a connection in a report or document (the source) to another report or document (the target). For example, a document designer creates a report displaying customer region by revenue, then adds a link to a related report displaying employee region by profit. You can click the link to open the related report and compare sales data between the two reports.

For examples of linking in documents, see Linking to Other Documents and Reports.

The procedures below assume that the designer of the report or document has already added links to the report or document.

To Open a Report or Document Using a Link

  1. To open a link in a report, click the name of the report to run it.
