How to Maximize Your View of a Report: Full Screen Mode

You can view a report without the toolbars, menus, and panels at the top of the screen. By hiding these tools, you can focus attention on the data itself and maximize the amount of the report that can be shown at one time. This is called Full Screen mode.

When you view a report in Full Screen mode, all of the menus, toolbars, and panels are hidden from view except the Standard toolbar and the Page-by field.

Use the appropriate steps below to view a report in Full Screen mode, switch from Full Screen mode to normal mode, or, if you are a report designer, enable a report to open in Full Screen mode.

To View a Report in Full Screen Mode

  1. Open a report in Grid, Graph, or Grid and Graph view.
  2. From the Home menu, select Full Screen Mode. Notice that all of the menus, toolbars, and panels are removed from the screen, except the Standard toolbar and the Grouping panel.

To maximize your view of the report even more, enable full screen mode in your browser as well as the Full Screen mode in Web. For example, in Internet Explorer you can press F11 to enable Full Screen mode.

To Switch from Full Screen Mode to Normal Screen Mode

With a report currently displayed in Full Screen mode, click the Restore Normal Screen Mode icon Restore Normal Screen Mode icon. The menus, toolbars, and panels are displayed at the top of the report.

You can ensure that when a report is executed, it opens in Full Screen mode by default. You can also ensure that all reports in your project open in Full Screen mode when they are executed.

To Set All Reports in a Project to Execute in Full Screen Mode

  1. On the upper right of any page, click your user name, and then select Preferences from the drop-down list. By default, the General preferences page is displayed.

    • Open every Report in Full Screen mode: Ensures that all reports in the current project are executed in Full Screen mode, by default.
    • Don't open any Report in Full Screen mode: Ensures that no reports in the current project are executed in Full Screen mode, even if a report has Full Screen mode enabled.
