Format: Template Dialog Box: Color and Lines Tab
If you arrived here from Workstation, see the Workstation Document Authoring Help.
You can change the formatting of lines in a grid report, such as cell borders and report borders, using the Color and Lines tab of the Format: Template dialog box. (If DHTML is disabled, you use the Format panel.)
From the first drop-down list, select the area of the report to format, such as All Grid Cells, Grid Borders, or a specific attribute or metric. From the second drop-down list, select the type of text or values to format, such as Header or Subtotal Values. Then format your selection by choosing from the following options:
-
Fill: Specify a background to fill the selected component:
If DHTML is disabled, you cannot create custom colors or apply gradients.
- Color: Select a fill color by clicking the arrow on the color menu.
- Gradients: Click to apply a color gradient, which is a combination of two colors. In the Gradients dialog box, select the two colors to use for the gradient. Then select a shading style to determine the direction in which the two colors are blended together.
-
Borders: Select the type of border to display around the selected cells.
- None: No borders appear around the selected cells. This is the default setting.
- All: Borders surround the selected cells on all sides. After selecting this option, select a line style from the drop-down list and select a color.
-
3D: A 3-dimensional border appears on all sides of the selected object.
- Weight: Determine the width of the 3D effect. Type a higher number to apply a wider, more visible 3D effect to the borders, or a lower number to apply a narrower effect.
- Effect: Determine whether the 3D borders appear raised or lowered.
- Custom: Determine whether the left, right, top, and bottom borders are displayed, and if so, the type of line and color used for each border.
- Enable drop shadow: Determine whether a drop shadow is applied next to the borders. Use the slider to determine the depth of the drop shadow.
