Format: Template Dialog Box: Alignment Tab

If you arrived here from Workstation, see the Workstation Document Authoring Help.

Specify how values and text are aligned within cells on a grid report, using the Alignment tab of the Format: Template dialog box. (If DHTML is disabled, you use the Format: Template panel.)

From the first drop-down list, select the area of the report to format, such as All Grid Cells, Grid Borders, or a specific attribute or metric. From the second drop-down list, select the type of text or values to format, such as Header or Subtotal Values. Then format your selection by choosing from the following options:

  • Text Alignment:
    • Horizontal: Change the horizontal alignment of text within the cell. Select left, center, right, or justified alignment.

    • Vertical: Change the vertical alignment of text within the cell. Select top, center, or bottom.

  • Text Control:

    • Wrap text: Determine whether long text is wrapped within the cells.
    • Text Direction: Determine whether text is aligned within the selected cells horizontally or vertically.
  • Padding: Adjust the space around the text in a cell, between the text and the left, top, right, and bottom edges of the cell.
