Strategy ONE

Linux Install Wizard - Strategy Install Wizard Complete

When the Strategy One installation has completed, you can select the following:

  • Run MicroStrategy Identity Configuration, which is available if the MicroStrategy Identity Manager has been installed.
  • View the Readme for the latest updates.
  • Run the Strategy Configuration Wizard, which allows you to configure your Strategy One production environment. For more information, see Configuring and Connecting Intelligence Server.

Click Finish to complete the installation.

Default Passwords for Configuration

During the configuration process, the Strategy Installer randomly generates a password for the Strategy Web Administration page, Strategy Mobile Administration page, Strategy Repository, and Tomcat (if installed). The username and password can be found in the following file on the server where Strategy Secure Enterprise was installed: /<install_path>/Repository/Default_Accounts.txt

Note the username and password, and store them securely. These credentials will be used to configure the DSN to the Platform Anlaytics project.

It is recommended to delete the Default_Accounts.txt file after the password is stored securely. This password cannot be recovered if it is lost.

Warning Message for the Intelligence Server's Governing Mechanism

When the installation is complete, the following message may be displayed. This occurs when the installer is executed by a non-root user. In this case, the installer lacks the permission to raise a user-level limit, or the nice value limit, that is required for prioritizing time-sensitive and interactive requests arriving at the Intelligence Server. This prioritization is part of the Intelligence Server's automatic governing mechanisms that help maintain response time performance under heavy loads. To learn more about the required nice limit for prioritization and how to manually apply the limit, see this page.

When the installation is complete, any of the following messages may be displayed.

A similar message is displayed to the standard output when the installer is run from command line. On the other hand, if the installer is run in silent mode, the following entries are added into the install.log file.

Automatic Backups During Upgrade

Starting with Strategy 2021 Update 9, a new feature was added to the installer that enables you to automatically backup integral configuration files that previously required manual updates. This feature is the beginning of a series of enhancements. Therefore, users should ensure that any previous backup customizations or changes are merged post-upgrade. To learn more, see Automatic Backup During Upgrades.

Once the upgrade is complete, a message appears which confirms that a backup was taken and is stored in the _uninstall directory.
