Connect via DSN-Less (Driver)

DSN-less connections to Teradata are supported via MicroStrategy Developer and through Web or Workstation via Data Import.

DSN-Less connection is supported for both the ODBC driver and the JDBC driver. JDBC can be supported by DSN-less only.

Configure DSN-Less via Developer

  1. In Developer, click File > New > Database Instance.

  2. Enter a database name and connection type.

  3. Under Database connection, click New.
  4. Create a database connection and do not choose any Local System ODBC data sources.

  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. Enter your ODBC or JDBC string under Additional connection string parameters.

  7. Click the General tab.
  8. Under Database Login Name, click New.

  9. Enter a new database login name and enter your credentials for the login.

  10. Click OK.

Configure DSN-Less via Web or Workstation

Configure DSN-less connection via MicroStrategy Web or Workstation via the Data Import interface. The user can choose to use JDBC driver by editing the connection string.
