NCS Authentication dialog box
When you attempt to connect to a Narrowcast Server, the NCS Authentication dialog box opens. To connect, you must:

Select a data source name

Enter a login for the data source name

Enter a valid password for the login

(Optional) enter the name of the database within the data source
After you provide this information and click Connect, you must select a system prefix from the drop-down list. Once this is selected and you click OK, a Script window opens and you can begin using Command Manager.
You can also choose to work in connection-less mode, by selecting Connection-less session and clicking OK. In this mode you can create, edit, save, and print scripts, but you cannot execute them unless you connect to a Narrowcast Server with the CONNECT command. For more information on connection-less sessions, see Working without a connection to a server.
A given connection can have up to five scripts. You can establish multiple simultaneous connections to one or more Narrowcast Servers. You must log in for each connection. To do this, from the File menu, select Connect (or click the Connect icon on the toolbar).
