Editor Panel for a Graph Visualization

The Editor panel for a graph visualization contains a list of all the attributes and metrics that appear as data in the visualization.

Access

  1. Open an existing dashboard that contains the graph visualization you want to edit.
  2. Select the graph visualization in the dashboard.
  3. In the left toolbar, click Editor .
  4. To add data to your graph visualization, drag attributes or metrics from the Datasets panel to the Editor panel. A blue indicator line appears in the area to which you add the attribute or metric.

Fields

Vertical: Displays the attribute or metric in the vertical axis.

Horizontal: Displays the attribute or metric in the horizontal axis.

Each dataset object on the Vertical or Horizontal area displays an icon indicating the location in which the object appears.

  • Left Axis : Displays the dataset object on the left vertical axis.
  • Right Axis : Displays the dataset object on the right vertical axis.
  • Top Axis : Displays the dataset object on the top horizontal axis.
  • Bottom Axis : Displays the dataset object on the bottom horizontal axis.
  • Top Column (available for attributes): Splits the data into columns of graphs. A separate column appears for each element in the attribute.
  • Left Row (available for attributes): Splits the data into rows of graphs. A separate row appears for each element in the attribute.

Tasks

Use the Datasets panel to perform the following tasks:

  • Switch axes by right-clicking one the icons listed above and choosing a new axis.
  • Drag an attribute or metric, within a graph visualization, to a different axis location. A blue indicator line appears, showing where you can place the attribute or metric.
  • Add up to two metrics, on different axes, at the same time. These can be adjacent axes, such as scatter and bubble graphs, or opposite axes, such as dual-axis graphs.
