Analytic Complexity

Calculations that cannot be done with SQL in the data warehouse are performed by the Analytical Engine in Intelligence Server. These may result in significant memory use during report execution. Some analytic calculations (such as AvgDev) require the entire column of the fact table as input to the calculation. The amount of memory used depends on the type of calculation and the size of the report that is used. Make sure your report designers are aware of the potential effects of these calculations.
