Resetting page numbers for each group

To restart page numbering at one for each new grouping field, the document must start on a new page for each new grouping field. This task is included in the procedure below.

Resetting page numbers applies only to PDF View. It also changes the value of the auto text code for total page numbers, which normally displays the total number of pages in the document. When you reset page numbers for each group, the auto text code displays the number of pages in that group's section.

To reset page numbers for each group

1. Open the document in the Document Editor. (How?)

2. If the Grouping panel is not displayed, select Grouping from the View menu.

3. If a group has not been defined, group the records. (How?)

4. In the Grouping panel, right-click the grouping field and select Grouping Properties. The Grouping Properties dialog box opens.

5. Select the Page break between groups check box.

6. Select the Restart page numbering check box.

7. Click OK to return to the Document Editor.
