Font formatting for graph objects

The Font options for graph objects allow you to change the formatting of text objects, such as the title and legend, in your graph report. As you modify the text formatting, sample text is updated to show an example of how the text formatting will appear. You can modify text with the following options:

  • Name:Applies any font that is installed and available in your operating system environment to the selected text object.

  • Size: Applies any font size that is installed and available in your operating system environment to the selected text object.

In the case of 3D graph types, if you set the font size for the axis label to a very large value, the graph shrinks to accommodate the font size for axis label. You can automatically adjust the graph's size by selecting the Auto arrange option. For more information see Resizing a graph report.

  • Bold:Applies bold formatting to the text object, which displays the font characters with thicker lines.

  • Italic: Applies italic formatting to the text object, which displays the font characters with a slight angle.

  • Strikeout: Applies a line through the middle of the text object.

  • Underline: Applies a line underneath the text object.

  • Color: Applies a color from the color grid to the selected text object.

  • Transparency: Sets how visible a text object is. As you set the transparency of a text object closer to 0 it becomes less visible.

  • Box style: Defines the box style that is drawn around the text object. When any option other than None is selected, the Border and Fill categories in the Graph Preferences dialog box are activated, which allow further formatting of the box displayed around the text.

  • Alignment: Changes the alignment of the text object within its bounding box to left, center, or right justified.

  • Rotation: Determines the angle of rotation of the text object. This option is not available for titles.
