Strategy ONE
End of Support for Legacy MicroStrategy Office Add-In
Starting in December 2024, all current versions of Strategy One no longer supports the Legacy MicroStrategy Excel and PowerPoint add-ins as they rely on deprecated Microsoft .NET APIs. While some workflows may continue to function, Strategy cannot guarantee that all product issues that arise can be resolved as the APIs remain unsupported by Microsoft.
Starting in Strategy One (March 2025), the legacy Excel, PowerPoint, and Word add-ins, along with their associated web services, will no longer be included in the product installation. For example, a fresh installation of Strategy One will not display or install the legacy add-ins. However, users who need access to the legacy add-ins can perform an upgrade installation from an earlier version where the add-ins are installed. This option retains the existing files. If you upgrade from an environment that did not have the Office add-ins installed, legacy connectors are not available.
This legacy plugin has not actively been developed by Strategy for over three years. It was replaced by a new add-in, Strategy for Office 365, a modern add-in designed for Office 365 applications. Strategy is committed to ensuring the new add-in not only meets, but exceeds, the capabilities of the legacy Office add-in, providing a seamless transition. A continued investment in Strategy for Office 365 ensure ongoing enhancements and a smooth migration for users.
Strategy for Office 365 add-ins do not support Microsoft Word.
