View Dashboards in Your History List Folder

Your History List is an area in MicroStrategy Web where you can store the results of dashboards. You can add a dashboard to the History List in the following ways:

  • You can send the results of a dashboard to your History List while you are viewing the results. From the File menu, select Add to History List. This places a copy of the results in your History List for you to view again later.

If the File menu is not available, from the dashboard toolbar, click the Add to History List icon Add to History List icon.

  • If you own MicroStrategy Distribution Services, you can have dashboard results automatically sent to your History List on a specific schedule. For steps to subscribe to a dashboard and have it delivered to your History List, see Schedule a Dashboard to be Sent to the History List .

Dashboard results do not remain in the History List indefinitely. The number of results that each user can have in the History List and the length of time they remain there are defined by your MicroStrategy administrator.

You must have the Web Edit Dashboard and Web Run Dashboard privileges.

To view a dashboard stored in your History List

  1. From the upper left of the home page or a folder page, go to MicroStrategy icon MicroStrategy icon > History List. The History List folder is displayed, with a list of dashboards, documents, and reports that have been added to the History List. The status of each dashboard is listed in the Status column, as follows:
    • Ready: The execution of the dashboard is complete.
    • Waiting in Queue: The dashboard has not yet executed. It is executed when all objects ahead of it in the queue are completed or removed.
    • Error: The dashboard execution process returned an error or was invalid. Click the link to see the error page. If the dashboard can still execute successfully, you may be sent to the wait page while it executes. Some reasons for an invalid dashboard include a dashboard that has been removed or changed in the system, has problems with its definition, or contains errors of another type.
