How to Create a Data Source Connection to a Search Source

To import data from a search source (such as Apache Solr) into MicroStrategy Web, you must first create a connection to the search index that contains the data to import.

Creating a Data Source Connection to a Search Source

1. Create a blank dashboard or open an existing one.
2. Choose Add Data > New Data.
3. Click Search Engine Indices.
4. In the Data Sources/Projects pane, click Add . The Data Source Dialog opens.
5. Enter the address of the search index in the Search Server field.
6. Enter a user name and password with access to the search source in the User and Password fields.
7. Enter a name for the data source connection in the Data Source Name field.
8. Select the Share this connection with everybody checkbox to allow other users to import data using the data source connection.
9. Click OK.
