Rename Objects

You can rename objects in the Dataset Objects pane. An object can be an attribute or metric.

Open a document in Editable Mode.
Right-click an object and select Rename.
Use the Object drop-down to select which object to rename.
Select the Replace dynamic text checkbox to use a prompt answer to rename a metric.
Enter a new name for the object in the Name field. If you selected the Replace dynamic text checkbox, enter a new name for the object, adding ?[prompt name] to the name.

If the report contains the prompt, it must be a stand-alone prompt that is not embedded in the report, since an embedded prompt does not have a name.

For example, if the metric is Revenue, the prompt is named "Choose one or more years", and you want the new name of the metric to be "Revenue for Year" where Year is the prompt answer. Enter Revenue for ?[Choose one or more years] in the Name field.
Click OK.
