View and Edit Dataset and Object Security Access

You can view and edit security for datasets and their corresponding objects, such as attributes and metrics, that you have permission to access through a connected environment.

Your ability to edit security access depends on your own permissions. You may not have all of the options listed below.

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click Datasets.
  3. Right-click the dataset to view or edit user and user group permissions for and choose Properties.
  4. In the left pane, click Security Access.

  5. Select the level of permission for each user or user group using the Permissions drop-down list.
  6. To customize permissions, select the user or group. In the permissions band at the bottom of the window, select or clear the individual permissions.
  7. To change permissions for multiple users and groups all at once, click Advanced Security Access. When complete, click OK to return to the main Security Access page.

  9. Click Attribute and Metric Security.
  10. Select an attribute or metric in the left pane.
  11. Use the Search to add users or user groups box to locate users and user groups for which you want to change access.
  12. Do one of the following:

    • Choose predefined permissions for users and user groups from the corresponding Permissions drop-down list.
    • Set a custom permission set by allowing or denying individual permissions using the following icons:

      • - Allow
      • - Deny
      • - Default

    • Remove the user or user group from the list by clicking the Delete icon to the right of the user or user group.

  13. Click Save.
  14. Click OK.
