Select Import Options Dialog
When you import from a database, Hadoop, or Google BigQuery, you can select how to import the data.
Access
To access the Select Import Options dialog:
- Choose Add Data
> New Data. The Data Sources dialog opens. - Select Databases or one of the database options (that is, Hadoop, Amazon Redshift, Cassandra Apache, etc.).
Fields
Browse Hadoop Files: Use the MicroStrategy Big Data Engine to browse Hadoop files and import tables. This option only appears when you select the Hadoop database option from the Data Sources dialog.
Build a Query: Use an visual interface to build a SQL query for importing data. Drag and drop tables, select columns, define joins, and specify filter conditions.
Type a Query: Write your own freeform script, or query, to retrieve data from a relational database.
Pick Tables: Use an visual interface to import your data by dragging and dropping relational tables.
