Data mart editors
Data marting tasks in the context of MicroStrategy entail the use of the Report Editor, the Metric Editor, and the Report Data Mart Setup dialog box, each for a specific purpose. The following list shows the data mart-related functions of these tools.

Report Editor: creates or modifies a data mart report.

Metric Editor: maps column names in a data mart report to corresponding aliases in a data mart table.

Report Data Mart Setup dialog box: specifies properties and performance-related conditions.

Accessing the data mart editors
You can access the data mart capabilities of the Metric Editor by selecting Tools, then Advanced Settings, and then Metric Column Options.
You can access the data mart capabilities of the Report Editor/Report Viewer by selecting Data, then Configure Data Mart from the menu bar.
If a report contains any of the following, it cannot be configured as a data mart report:

View filter

Report Objects that are not included in the template

Derived metrics
You can access the Report Data Mart Setup dialog box by opening an existing data mart report and selecting Data, then Configure Data Mart from the menu bar.
