New Menu Element Wizard

The New Menu Element Wizard adds a new item (menu or a submenu) to an existing menu for a report.

You can use either of the following methods to access the wizard.

Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web is enabled

Make sure you have completed the Enabling Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web step before proceeding further.

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.  

  2. Access the MicroStrategy Web page for which you wish to add custom menu items (a new menu or submenu).  

  3. Right-click anywhere on the page, click Menus and select Add Custom Menu Elements to launch the New Menu Element Wizard.

Interactivity with MicroStrategy Web is not enabled

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.  

  2. Click on MicroStrategy Web Configuration inside the Application Settings view to expand the hierarchical tree. The expanded list comprises the different settings that can be modified to perform customizations.  

  3. Click on Pages to expand the list of MicroStrategy Web Pages.  

  4. Right-click on the MicroStrategy Web Page for which you want to add a new menu or submenu and select Menus->Add Custom Menu Elements to launch the NewMenu Element Wizard.

Or

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.  

  2. Click on MicroStrategy Web Configuration inside the Application Settings view to expand the hierarchical tree. The expanded list comprises the different settings that can be modified to perform customizations.  

  3. Click on Menus to expand the list of menus (HTML and DHTML).  

  4. Right-click the DHTML menu to which you want to add a new menu and select New Menu Element to launch the New Menu Element Wizard. To add a submenu to a DHTML menu, right-click the DHTML menu to which you want to add a new submenu and select New Sub-Menu Element to launch the New Menu Element Wizard that has the relevant options to create a submenu.
