Filter Editor: Shortcut-to-a-Report pane

A Shortcut to a Report allows you to use an existing report as a qualification. For more information, see Shortcut-to-a-report qualifications.

You cannot use the following as a shortcut:

Select the report to use as a qualification in one of the following ways:

  • Drag the report from the Object Browser into the Report box.

  • Type the name of the report in the Report box.

  • Click ... (the browse button) to browse for the report.

  • Click Prompt to open the Prompt Generation Wizard, to create a report object prompt. This prompts the user to choose a report as the filtering criteria during run time.

    After you create a prompt, the following occurs:

    • The Prompt button is replaced by Edit Prompt, which opens the Prompt Generation Wizard to allow you to modify the prompt.

    • You can set how the reports are joined, if a user selects multiple reports in the prompt. The options are:

      • Use the INTERSECTION of all objects

      • Use theUNIONof all objects

Accessing the Shortcut to a Report pane

In the Filter Editor, select Add a Shortcut to a Report in the Filtering Options pane.

If you drag a report into the Filter definition pane, the Shortcut to a Report pane is not displayed. Instead, the selected report is added as a qualification.
