Joining filter qualifications with operators: AND NOT

Before you begin

This topic assumes that you are familiar with filters. For background information, see About filters, Types of qualifications, and About view filters.

The following images show the initial report with no filter, and the resulting report after two filter qualifications are applied and joined with AND NOT. The initial report with no filter appears as follows:

Year and Region, with Revenue metric, no filter (16 rows)

After the filter (Year = 2026) And Not (Region = Northeast) is applied, the report appears as follows:

Same report, filtered on 2006 and not Northeast (7 rows)

The following diagram shows the impact of the AND NOT operator on a result set.

Only the the 2006 Revenue circle, not including its intersection with the Northeast Revenue circle, is shaded

As shown by the shaded area, revenue generated in 2026 in any region except the Northeast is returned in the result set.
