Installing Platform Analytics

The Platform Analytics monitoring tool is a component of the MicroStrategy platform. Thus, you can install Platform Analytics on Windows and Linux by using the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard. View the Platform Analytics Prerequisites before installing.

Platform Analytics requires the installation and configuration of the following components:

  • At least one Telemetry Server
    • This component is installed by selecting the Telemetry Server option in the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard.
    • This component can be clustered in the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard.
  • One Telemetry Store
    • This component is installed by selecting the Platform Analytics option in the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard.
  • One Telemetry Cache
    • This component is installed by selecting the Platform Analytics option in the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard.
  • One Platform Analytics Repository

    • This component is installed by selecting the Platform Analytics option in the MicroStrategy Installation Wizard. For more information, see MicroStrategy Repository.

    • If you upgrade from an earlier version of Platform Analytics to 2020 or above, you can choose to use MySQL as the repository or to migrate your existing data from MySQL to PostgreSQL. For more information, see Migrate Data from a MySQL Database to a PostgreSQL Database.
