What Can You Do with the Mobile SDK for Android?

All uses of the terms “Android™ application” in this documentation refer to an Android application built using the MicroStrategy Mobile App Platform and customized using the Mobile SDK. The Mobile SDK for Android lets you customize the MicroStrategy Mobile application to match your corporate branding requirements. It also allows you to preconfigure the application and configure it to allow multiple instances of the application to exist on a single device.

The topics in the following sections provide the information you need to understand how to customize a mobile app built using the MicroStrategy Mobile App Platform.

  • Set Up the Development Environment

    The topics in this section explain how to perform the procedures required to set up your development environment so that you can customize the MicroStrategy Mobile application.

  • Customize MicroStrategy Mobile

    The topics in this section provide a detailed explanation of how to customize the MicroStrategy Mobile application. For example, you can rebrand MicroStrategy Mobile so that it complies with your corporate standards for look and feel. You can replace the application name and icon, as well as use a different image for the splash screen for the application. You can also preconfigure the application settings and enable multiple instances of the application to run simultaneously.

  • Integrate with EMM (Enterprise Mobile Management) Providers

    You can integrate the MicroStrategy Mobile application with any AppConfig-compliant EMM provider, or you can integrate it specifically with AirWatch.

  • Use the Mobile URL API

    The URL API for the Mobile SDK lets you use links to execute MicroStrategy reports and documents, display standard MicroStrategy Mobile screens, and open applications installed on a mobile device.
