Signing in to Flowdock by Scanning a QR Code

Flowdock users can log in using their smartphones to scan a QR code displayed on the computer screen. After you integrate the web application with MicroStrategy Identity, the Flowdock login page displays a QR code.

The following steps contain only the information required to configure or use Flowdock with MicroStrategy Identity. See your third-party Flowdock documentation for the last information.

You can access the Flowdock Enterprise administration dashboard.

To display a custom image on the Flowdock login page, you must create the image to display. Supported image formats are .png, .jpeg, and .jpg file types.

If your Flowdock users are populated from an identity management (IDM) system such as Microsoft Active Directory or OpenLDAP, MicroStrategy recommends that you add users to your Identity Network by synchronizing MicroStrategy Identity with the same IDM system as Flowdock. This helps add user information to MicroStrategy Identity and may be easier than adding users manually or by importing a file. To Register Your Flowdock Site with MicroStrategy Identity

  1. Log into MicroStrategy Identity Manager.
  2. Click Logical Gateways.
  3. Under Web Application Login, click More, then click Flowdock.
  4. You can change the image that is displayed on your Flowdock login page. Next to image preview, click Import An Icon. Select an image to display, then click Open.
  5. In the Enter Display Name field, type a name to display on your Flowdock login page. The name can be up to 30 characters long.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Assertion Consumer Service URL field, type your Flowdock assertion consumer service URL. See your third-party Flowdock documentation for specific requirements.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Note the values provided for Login URL, Identity Provider Issuer, and Certificate Fingerprint. This information is needed to configure Flowdock.
  10. Click Done.
  11. Provide the Login URL, Identity Provider Issuer, and Certificate Fingerprint to your Flowdock Technical Support representative. Follow the steps your Flowdock Technical Support representative gives you to complete the configuration.
