Prepare for Installation of MicroStrategy Badge for macOS and Windows

To prepare for installation of MicroStrategy Badge for macOS and Windows, download and prepare the installation files as described in the following procedure.

This procedure, typically done by an administrator, needs to be performed only once for an organization.

  • MicroStrategy Identity Server URL: 10.7 or later
  • Mobile device: iPhone
    • iOS 9.0 or later
    • MicroStrategy Badge App 10.7 or later
  • Computer requirements: (Notification based)
    • For macOS: 10.11 El Capitan or later with Internet connectivity
    • For Windows: Windows 10.0 with Internet connectivity
  • Computer requirements: (Proximity based)
    • For macOS: 10.11 El Capitan or later with Bluetooth 4.0 and Internet connectivity.
    • For Windows: Windows 10.0 with Bluetooth with Internet connectivity

Virtual machines are not supported.

Prepare for Installation of MicroStrategy Badge for macOS and Windows

  1. Download installation files:
    1. Go to the MicroStrategy Download Site.
    2. Click Feature Releases, and select Version ONE.
    3. Expand the Add-Ons and Tools section.
    4. Download the appropriate file for your operating system.
  2. Configure server setting:

    Expand the download file.

    • For Mac:
      1. Use a text editor to open UsherDesktopConfig.plist.

      2. Update the sever address and port number within the <string></string>
        For example:

        Copy 
        <dict>
         <key>UServerUrl</key>
         <string>https://myServer.microstrategy.com:2443</string>
         </dict>
      3. Save and close the file.
    • For Windows:
      1. Use a text editor to open setup.ini.

      2. Update the server address and port number.
        For example:

        ServerUrl=https://my_server.microstrategy.com:443

      3. Save and close the file.
  3. Distribute:

    Distribute the installation files to users and/or add to computer software image for future cloning.
