Allowing Multiple Keys to be Used for a Single Action
You can allow users to tap one key in the MicroStrategy Badge app and unlock multiple physical resources at the same time by combining keys into a batch key. When a user taps a batch key, all locations controlled by individual keys that compose the batch key are unlocked.
For example, your company lounge has two doors that you want to open simultaneously. You can combine the keys for both lounge doors into one batch key. When a user taps the batch key, both lounge doors are unlocked.
To combine individual keys into a batch key, follow the steps below.
You must integrate your physical access control system (PACS) with MicroStrategy Identity. For steps, see Enabling access to physical locations with MicroStrategy Identity.
To Create a Batch Key
- Log into MicroStrategy Identity Manager:
- Navigate to the Identity Manager home page.
- On your smartphone, open the MicroStrategy Badge app and scan the displayed QR code.
- Click Physical Gateways.
- Under Building Access, click Edit next to the physical access system whose keys you want to modify. The keys for the physical access control system are displayed.
- Click Batch Keys. All batch keys in the network are displayed.
- Click the Create Batch Key icon .
- Type a descriptive name for the batch key in the Batch Key Name field.
- Choose whether to show or hide the key from users in the app. For Batch Key Hiding, select:
- Show: The single key is available to users in the app.
- Hide: The single key is not available to users in the app.
- To add keys to the batch key, click Add. The Add Keys page opens.
- Select the keys to include in the batch key, then click Add.
- Click Publish to save your changes.
