Strategy ONE
Perform Key Driver and Deep Research in an Agent
Beginning in Strategy One (September 2025), enhanced bots are available out of the box and have been renamed to agents to reflect the improvements and advancements.
-
For details on the 2.0 enhancements, see Agent Enhancements.
Starting in Strategy One (September 2025), you can enable deep research to answer your queries in an agent. Key driver analysis is also available, to help you understand the dominant factors that influence specific outcomes, as described in Key Driver Analysis.
Deep Research
When enabled, Auto uses a reasoning model to generate a deep research report to analyze the question. The content is provided in:
-
Executive Summary
-
Detailed Findings
-
Context and Limitations
-
Business Implications and Recommendations
-
Analytical Reasoning Notes
You can see the stage progress for each step. After the report is generated, you can download it as a PDF for further analysis and sharing.
For example, your Airline Ops agent contains key information about airline operations. You ask it, "what was the average delay in May 2009 for flights departing from BWI". The response, shown below, includes the answer of 28.01 minutes, with a list of insights such as the delay is notably higher than expected, perhaps due to weather.
Enable deep research and ask the question again to see the additional details. The response includes the answer of 28.01 minutes, but explains why it's considered meaningful (because an average delay above 15 minutes is meaningful) and notes that there's no comparison to other dates or airports, among other information. It also proposes recommendations, such as comparing BWI with other airports and investigate specific processes to identify actionable improvements.
Enable and Use Deep Research
- In Library, click an agent to open it. You can use the Filters panel to search for a specific agent name or filter to display only agents, as shown below:
-
Enable deep research by clicking Enable Research
above the question box. When deep research is enabled, the icon turns blue.
-
Type and submit your question.
-
You can download a PDF of the answer by clicking Download next to the "Your report is ready" notification at the end of the answer.
-
Deep research is enabled (the icon is blue) until you disable it, by clicking the Research icon
above the question box.
Deep research takes longer to provide a response because of the additional analysis. It also consumes more processing power.
Your agent opens and displays a customized greeting and suggestions based on the agent's datasets.
Key Driver Analysis
Key driver analysis empowers you to understand the dominant factors that influence specific outcomes. Key driver analysis drills down on individual variables to evaluate their impact and significance on a target metric. This targeted approach is particularly valuable to prioritize interventions and understand the core levers of performance.
To trigger the key driver workflow, ask a question referring to factors, drivers, or attributes impacting a metric. For example, you ask an airline agent "Which factors have the most significant impact on average delay?".
The agent selects five attributes based on the specified metric in the question. It then calculates the overall average of that metric, the average values for the five selected attributes, and the corresponding increases or decreases compared to the overall average. The agent then identifies key positive drivers and key negative drivers, and also provides the data point percentage for each.
A portion of the response is shown below, indicating that the strongest positive driver is departing between 19:00 and 20:00 while the strongest negative driver is departing between 0:00 and 6:00. A more detailed analysis of patterns, business implications, and insights follows.
