Create a Dashboard

You must create and save a dashboard before you can save visualizations of your data.

  1. Click Create New then select Dashboard.
  2. You can add data now, in the form of an existing dataset or report, or create a blank dashboard without data.
    • To add data now, select the project from the drop-down list. Click Dataset or Report, then select the check boxes for the objects to use in the dashboard. You can select multiple datasets and/or reports. Click Create.
    • To create a blank dashboard without data from datasets or reports, click Blank Dashboard. You can import data from within the dashboard.
  3. If needed, add data.
    • To import data from an external source, click Add Data in the toolbar and select New Data. In the New Dataset window, select the data source and then the data. You can modify and refine the data. For detailed steps, see Interfaces for Importing Data
    • To add an existing dataset or report, click Add Data in the toolbar and select Existing Dataset. Navigate to and select the dataset or report. Click Select.
    • To create a report within the dashboard, click Add Data in the toolbar and select Existing Objects. Navigate to and select the objects to add to the dataset. You can add a filter to the dataset by clicking Add Filter . Click Add.

  5. You can create chapters and pages to organize your dashboard, displaying and filtering data in the best way.

    Save the Dashboard

  6. Click Save and select either Save to continue editing or Save and View to view the dashboard.
  7. Navigate to the appropriate location.
  8. Type the dashboard Name.
  9. You can certify the dashboard, which means that it has been reviewed and is considered an official source of content, based on reliable data. Click the Certified Dashboard check box.
  10. Click Save.
