Validating consolidation elements
The validation function of the Consolidation Editor checks that the definition of a consolidation element is syntactically correct. This is especially important with a complex consolidation element expression containing many mathematical operators, logical operators, and parentheses.
The validation function can only check whether the expression syntax is correct (no missing parentheses, for example). It cannot tell you if the expression will return valid data.
To import a consolidation element
-
Open the Consolidation Editor. (How?)
-
Select the consolidation element to validate in the Elements for this consolidation pane.
-
Right-click in the Selected element pane and choose Validate. The Consolidation Editor displays a status message, at the bottom of the Selected element pane, showing whether the expression is correct (Valid expression).
