Previewing an autostyle

An autostyle is a pre-defined set of styles that you can apply to a template or report, to change the appearance of the report. Each autostyle provides a distinctive format, color schema, and font to change the appearance of a report.

Previewing an autostyle allows you to view how the report will look with the autostyle applied. You can choose to apply the autostyle to the report, or select another.

To preview an autostyle

1. Open the report or template:

   • Open it in the Report Editor

   • Open it in the Report Viewer

   • Open it in the Template Editor

2. From the Grid menu, select Open Autostyle. The Open AutoStyle dialog box opens.

3. Navigate through the folder list in Available AutoStyles until you locate the folder where the autostyle is stored.

4. Click the autostyle to see a preview of your report with the selected autostyle.

5. To copy the selected autostyle to the My Objects folder, which allows it to appear in the Autostyles drop-down list on reports, select the Copy this AutoStyle check box.

6. To apply the selected autostyle to the report, click OK.
