MicroStrategy ONE
Modifying an existing metric
Once you create a metric, you can modify it at any time.
Prerequisites
-
You can modify an existing metric only if one of the following is true:
-
You have the appropriate level of privileges to modify the metric.
-
You save the modified metric under a different name or in a different location.
-
When you create a new metric definition by extending the definition of an existing metric, the newly defined metric is considered to be an instance of the original one.
To modify an existing metric
-
Open an existing metric in the Metric Editor. (How?)
-
Various components make up a metric definition. Select one of the following components in the Metric component pane (located under the heading "Metric (metric name) is defined as"). The Definition pane (located below the Metric component pane) changes to reflect your selection.
-
Formula to modify the aggregation type or aggregation components.
-
Level (Dimensionality) to modify the attribute level at which the metric is to be applied. See Specifying metric levels for more information.
-
Condition to modify the definition of any filters applied to the metric. See Setting metric conditionality for more information.
-
Transformation to modify the attribute-element offset of the metric. See Creating transformation metrics for more information.
-
-
When you have made all the necessary modifications to the metric, save the updated metric definition. Click Save and Close to save the metric and close the Metric Editor.
