Cube Advisor: Logon

The Logon page is your gateway to accessing the Cube Advisor tool for Intelligent Cube analysis. For important prerequisites and other requirements to use Cube Advisor, see About using Cube Advisor to support dynamic sourcing.

To begin using Cube Advisor for analysis, you connect to an Intelligence Server and select the appropriate project on which to perform analysis.

To connect to a project and begin analysis with Cube Advisor, provide the following information:

 

  1. Computer Name: Type the machine name of the host machine for your Intelligence Server.

  2. Port: Type the port number used for your Intelligence Server. The default port number is 34952.

  3. User: Type the MicroStrategy user name to connect to a MicroStrategy project. To use Cube Advisor, you must log in to a project using a MicroStrategy user account with the following privileges:

    • Privileges required to execute reports and documents

    • Privileges required to create folders in a MicroStrategy project

    • Privileges required to create Intelligent Cubes

  4. Password: Type the password for the MicroStrategy user.

  5. Click Connect. A list of available projects is displayed.

  6. From the displayed project list, select the project that you want to analyze and create Intelligent Cubes for and click Connect to Project. The Report Selection page opens.
