Consolidation Editor
The Consolidation Editor allows you to create and modify consolidations. Use it to:

Create a new consolidation

Create a new consolidation element

Create a consolidation element expression

Delete a consolidation element
-
Import a consolidation element from another consolidation

Validate a consolidation element expression

Consolidation Editor contents
The Consolidation Editor contains the following:

The Consolidation definition area allows you to create consolidation elements, which define the consolidation. This area is divided into the following panes:

Elements for this consolidation lists the names and expressions for consolidation elements placed in this pane. You can create simple consolidations by dragging and dropping attribute elements from the Object Browser into this pane.

Selected element allows you to create, modify, clear, and validate consolidation expressions.

The Object Browser allows you to navigate through the project to locate the objects to define the consolidation elements. It is located on the left side of the editor.

The Shortcut Bar contains shortcut icons to commonly used folders such as My Personal Objects, Public Objects, and Attributes in the default group displayed as My Shortcuts. You can also customize the Shortcut Bar by adding, renaming, and deleting groups and folders. When displayed, it is also located on the left side of the editor.
The Shortcut Bar cannot be displayed unless the Object Browser is shown.

The menu bar provides functions specific to the Consolidation Editor as well as standard Windows options.

The toolbar provides quick access to standard Windows functions and other functions specific to the Consolidation Editor.

Accessing the Consolidation Editor
Prerequisite
You cannot access any editor until you log in to a project.
Do one of the following:

In MicroStrategy Developer, select File, point to New, and then choose Consolidation. The Consolidation Editor opens.

If you are using Object Templates, the New Consolidation dialog box is displayed before the Consolidation Editor opens. For information on object templates, see The purpose of an object template.

Click the Empty Consolidation icon.

If you do not want this dialog box to be shown again, select Don't show this dialog in the future.

Click OK.

To modify an existing consolidation

In MicroStrategy Developer, navigate through the Folder List to locate the consolidation to modify.

Select the consolidation by double-clicking its name or icon. The consolidation opens in the Consolidation Editor.
