Installing and Configuring the R Integration Pack

To integrate R analytics in MicroStrategy reports and dashboards, you must first install and configure the R Integration Pack.

The R Integration Pack consists of the following components:

• RScript functions: A set of functions that are available within MicroStrategy which use R for calculation.

• Sample R scripts: A collection of ready-to-use R scripts for predictive analytics or data science applications, such as linear regression, clustering, or sentiment analysis, which can be used within MicroStrategy.

• MicroStrategyR: A package for R which contains tools for preparing custom R scripts for use in MicroStrategy metrics. This is only required when you wish to develop custom R scripts and is only required on systems used to develop the R script.

To Use R Analytics with MicroStrategy

1. Install a supported version of MicroStrategy Workstation, Developer, or Intelligent Enterprise.
2. Install R. See the CRAN homepage.
3. Depending on your MicroStrategy product and version, install the R Integration Pack.

If you have MicroStrategy Intelligent Enterprise projects which existed before the R Integration Pack was installed, upgrade these projects using the MicroStrategy Configuration Wizard. Refer to Upgrading MicroStrategy Projects for detailed instructions.
