Format Dialog Box for Metrics

Use the Format dialog to specify metric-level formatting. You can select different formatting options for metric column headers and values.

Specify the following formatting options:

  • Formatting the number display allows you to determine how numeric data is displayed. For example, you can format numbers to appear as dollars and cents, as percentages, or even as scientific notation.
  • Formatting the alignment allows you to set alignment options for the data on the report inside their respective cells. For example, you can right justify the data, pad the data, and select whether to wrap text.
  • Formatting the font allows you to select the font name, script, size, and color; whether the font is bold, underlined, or italicized; and whether to strikeout the text.
  • Formatting the borders allows you to select the style and color of the border line. You can select which borders (top, bottom, left, and right) are displayed, or hide all the borders.
  • Formatting the background allows you to specify background colors, including a gradient.
  • Formatting the graph color allows you to apply a background color for the metric when it is displayed as a series in a graph report. This is available for metric headers.
  • By default, the graph color that you define for a metric overrides any default color schemes for the graph report, although you can disable this metric formatting. For more detailed instructions, see the Graphing chapter of the Advanced Reporting Help.

You can reset all changes and display the metric using its default formatting by clicking Clear Format.

You have created a metric. For instructions, see How to Create a Metric.
