Apply Functions: Using Database-Specific Functions in Metrics

Apply functions, also called Pass-through functions, provide access to functionality that is not standard in MicroStrategy products but can be obtained through the relational database. When you include an Apply function in an attribute, fact, or transformation expression, the SQL Engine recognizes it as custom SQL and treats it as such. The expression is then sent to the relational database as written.
