Resizing Grid/Graphs in documents

After you add a Grid/Graph, you can change its size. You can resize it by dragging it in the Layout area or by specifying its height and width. These alternatives are described in the following procedure.

Prerequisite

This procedure assumes that you have added a Grid/Graph to the document. For instructions on adding Grid/Graphs, see Displaying reports in documents: Grid/Graphs.

To resize a Grid/Graph

  1. Open the document in the Document Editor. (How?)

  2. Click the Grid/Graph to select it. Red sizing handles display around it.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Drag any of the red sizing handles. Drop to its new size.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key while pressing the Up, Down, Left, or Right arrow keys. If you hold down the CTRL key while using the keyboard arrows, snap to grid is temporarily disabled.

If a selected Grid/Graph does not resize, it may be locked. A locked Grid/Graph cannot be resized or moved on the Layout area. For more information and instructions, see Locking and unlocking controls.

    • To resize and move the Grid/Graph so that all corners touch a grid point, right-click the Grid/Graph, point to Size, then choose To Grid.

    • Specify the size in the Property List settings described below, all of which are found in the Size section:

    • Height: sets the height of the Grid/Graph.

    • Height mode: determines if the height is dynamic. The modes are:

    • Fixed, which means the height does not change from the set size.

    • Fit to contents, which means the height expands to the height of the item. This is used only for Grid/Graphs displayed as grids, and it only affects Express Mode.

    • Width: sets the width of the Grid/Graph.

    • Width mode: determines if the width is dynamic. The modes are similar to the Height modes described above.

  4. When you are done, press ESC or click anywhere in the Layout area outside the Grid/Graph object.
