Metric Editor toolbar options

The Metric Editor provides a set of toolbar icons to facilitate the tasks of metric definition and modification. In addition to standard Windows options such as copy and paste, these icons include the following metric-specific options:

• Validate Expression: confirms that a given metric definition is valid for use by the MicroStrategy engine.

• Show Metric Headers Formatting Properties: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the metric headers. For more information, see Tools menu: Formatting.

• Show Metric Values Formatting Properties: opens the Format Cells dialog box to format the metric values. For more information, see Tools menu: Formatting.

• Show/Hide Dimensionality Properties: toggles the display of the dimensionality properties of level, filtering, and grouping. For details, see View menu: Show/Hide Dimensionality Properties.

• Show/Hide Function Parameters: toggles the display of any function parameters not using default values.

• Show/Hide Object Browser: toggles the display of the Object Browser.

If the Subtotals/Aggregation tab is selected, only the following toolbar options are available:

• Save and Close

• Show Metric Values Formatting Properties
