Filter Editor: Shortcut to a Filter pane
A Shortcut to a Filter allows you to use an existing filter as a qualification in another filter. For more information, see Shortcut-to-a-filter qualifications.
Shortcut to a Filter pane content
Select the filter to use as a qualification in one of the following ways:

Drag the filter from the Object Browser into the Filter box.

Type the name of the filter in the Filter box.

Click ... (the browse button) to browse for the filter.

Click Prompt to open the Prompt Generation Wizard, to Create a filter object prompt (shortcut to a filter).

This will prompt the user to choose a filter as the filtering criteria during run time.
After you create a prompt, the following occurs:

The Prompt button is replaced by Edit Prompt, which opens the Prompt Generation Wizard to allow you to modify the prompt.

You can set how the filters are joined, if a user selects multiple filters in the prompt. The options are

Use the INTERSECTION of all objects

Use theUNIONof all objects

Click Advanced to access the Advanced Options dialog box, which allows you to specify whether existing attribute qualifications are merged into the calculation of the shortcut-to-filter qualification. By default, the qualifications are merged.
Accessing the Shortcut to a Filter pane
In the Filter Editor, select Add a Shortcut to a Filter in the Filtering Options pane.
If you drag a filter into the Filter definition pane, the Shortcut to a Filter pane is not displayed. Instead, the selected filter is added as a qualification.
