Deleting a grouping field in a document

If you no longer want to group a document by a particular object, you can delete its associated grouping field. This action also removes its associated header and footer sections, along with their contents. You can no longer sort by the grouping field, since its grouping sort keys are removed from the Sorting dialog box.

To delete a grouping field

  1. Open the document in the Document Editor. (How?)

  2. If the Grouping panel is not displayed, select Grouping from the View menu. The Grouping panel, labeled Drop Grouping Fields Here, opens above the Layout area.

  3. Do one of the following in the Grouping panel:

    • Drag and drop the grouping field to the Datasets pane.

    • Right-click the grouping field and select Remove. At the prompt, click Yes.
