Document Properties dialog box: Flash

The Flash section of the Document Properties dialog box contains the following document properties, which affect the entire document, including all layouts of a multi-layout document:

Graph Axis Labels

  •  Allow staggered axis labels check box: determines whether category labels are staggered (placed on a second row). If this check box is cleared, all category labels appear on the same row.

  • Use optimal number of labels for category axis to fit the available space check box: determines whether category labels can be dropped, so that fewer labels are displayed. If this check box is cleared, all category labels are displayed.

When a line graph with a large number of categories is viewed in Flash View, the category axis can become hard to see. Select this option to display fewer labels, so that they are easier to read. For example, the categories on a line graph include all the months in 2027, 2028, and 2029, for a total of 36 labels. When the optimal number of labels is used, only 12 labels are displayed, making it easier to read.

  •  Use optimal number of labels for numeric axis to fit the available space check box: determines whether numeric axes labels can be dropped, so that fewer labels are displayed. If this check box is cleared, all numeric axes labels are displayed. Numeric axes are Y1, X1, and so on.

Pie Graphs

  •  x

  • Maximum space allocated for pie labels (%): represents the maximum space that the pie labels can occupy. As labels increase in size, the pie chart shrinks. Use the arrows to set a value between 0 and 100. For example, a value of 30 means that the labels can use up to a maximum of 30% of the space that the pie chart and data labels share.

Selectors

  • Enable padding for button bar selectors check box: determines whether or not the button bar selector is padded with 10 pixels.

 Fonts

  • Embed the following fonts: lists the SWF files that contain font definitions, such as Tahoma and ComicSans. These definitions are used when the document is displayed in Flash Mode in MicroStrategy Web. For example, the files can include the font types that support vertical text and font anti-aliasing in Flash Mode. For more information on embedding fonts, see Embedding fonts for Flash Mode (MicroStrategy Web).

    • Enter the relative path and the name of the SWF file, such as ../swf/Tahoma.swf. Separate multiple files with a comma.

The SWF files should be saved in C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy\Web ASPx\swf or the directory in which the dashboardviewer.swf file is located.
