MicroStrategy ONE

Load Object Telemetry to the Platform Analytics Data Repository

Platform Analytics captures and analyzes the telemetry from the MicroStrategy Intelligence Server by using information from metadata objects to provide context and descriptive details. For example, the telemetry sent by the Intelligence Server provides the object GUID, but the metadata change journal logs provide the Object Name, Object Creation Date, Object Owner, etc.

To obtain this descriptive information, the administrator must trigger an initial load by which the Intelligence Server sends the metadata information. After the load, all subsequent changes to any objects in the metadata are captured in real-time by Platform Analytics.

The following information should be collected prior to configuration:

  • The project source to the Intelligence Server which you wish to trigger the initial load for Platform Analytics. For steps to create a Project Source, see Create and Configure the Platform Analytics Project for Single Node Telemetry.
  • You must have the following privileges:

    • Use Command Manager
    • Configure server basic
  • The Platform Analytics Store and Intelligence Server must be configured to use the same Messaging Services Host(s) and Port(s).
