Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be met to use the MicroStrategy for Office PowerPoint add-in.

Necessary Privileges

To use the MicroStrategy for Office PowerPoint add-in, you must have the Use Application Office and Use Library Web privileges.

To import visualizations or execute prompted objects, you must have at least one of the following privileges:

• Web Create Dashboard
• Web Run Dashboard
• Mobile Run Dashboard
• Web Edit Dashboard

System Requirements

• A MicroStrategy ONE Update 11 or later environment with Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) is a mechanism that uses additional HTTP headers to tell a browser to let a web application running at one origin (domain) have permission to access selected resources from a server at a different origin. enabled. MicroStrategy for Office uses MicroStrategy Library. For steps, see How to Enable CORS Settings.
• MicroStrategy Workstation ONE Update 11 or later to generate the manifest file. See Generate the Manifest File.
• MicroStrategy Library Server using the HTTPS protocol. You must have the appropriate certificate to use MicroStrategy Library with HTTPS protocol.
  
• MicroStrategy ONE Update 11 or later Intelligence Server. You must have the same version of the Intelligence Server and MicroStrategy Library.
• The minimum Microsoft PowerPoint API version is 1.4. Microsoft PowerPoint API version 1.5 or later is required to support all MicroStrategy for Office functionality.

• MicroStrategyLibrary/static must be available to use custom authentication methods.

Microsoft PowerPoint 365

Microsoft PowerPoint Online is not currently supported.

  iPhones and iPads are not currently supported.
